Trent Alexander-Arnold has a ‘close’ return date as he intensifies his injury rehab

Trent Alexander-Arnold is ramping up his training regimen at the AXA Training Centre this week in his bid to recover from a long-standing knee injury.

Since sustaining knee ligament damage during the 3-1 victory over Burnley on February 10, Alexander-Arnold has been sidelined, missing out on the last nine matches.

However, last week, Jurgen Klopp hinted at a possible return for both Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota, suggesting a likelihood of their involvement “the week after” Brighton’s visit on March 31. This implies they could be back in action for the match against Manchester United at Old Trafford on April 7.

According to Chris Bascombe of The Telegraph, Trent Alexander-Arnold is progressing in his recovery and has adjusted his return timeline accordingly.

Rather than sticking to the initial schedule, the 25-year-old is now looking at the match against Sheffield United at Anfield on April 4 with optimism as a potential comeback opportunity.

Although Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to return gradually, Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez are ready to step in if needed. However, once fully fit, the No. 66 is likely to resume his position.

There’s a possibility he might make a substitute appearance against Sheffield United before potentially starting against Manchester United three days later.

However, Liverpool’s medical team is cautious due to instances of players re-injuring themselves after being rushed back this season. Therefore, they’ll proceed with caution regarding Alexander-Arnold’s return.

Good news all around: The injury woes seem to be improving, with Curtis Jones set to return against Brighton.

After the international break, Stefan Bajcetic is poised to join team training, and Alisson may soon follow suit as he recuperates from a significant hamstring problem.

Unfortunately, Joel Matip and Thiago are unlikely to see any more action this season.

However, there’s a glimmer of hope for Ben Doak’s recovery from a knee injury, though his participation in the final stretch might be limited.
