Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, residing in Alderley Edge, faced legal consequences after being caught speeding on the M56 in Cheshire.
The 23-year-old Hungarian was driving a Bentley on the M56 in Warrington, where a camera recorded him exceeding the 70mph speed limit on the eastbound carriageway between junctions 11 and seven shortly after midnight on September 22, 2023.
Following a hearing on December 21 of the same year, Chester magistrates ruled the case as proved. The sentencing, however, was deferred until March 6 of the current year, after an adjournment on January 29.
During the sentencing, Szoboszlai was fined £2,500 and directed to pay £1,000 in costs, along with a £110 victim surcharge. Additionally, six points were added to his driving license.
Szoboszlai, who also captains the Hungary national team, faced legal repercussions for his speeding offense.
